History[]
In 1998, Aldborough Township was amalgamated with West Lorne to create the Municipality of West Elgin. The Rodney and West Lorne Fire Departments continued to operate as separate entities until 2016, when Council opted to amalgamate the two into the West Elgin Fire Department.
