HistoryEdit

The City of Thunder Bay was created in 1970 through the amalgamation of the cities of Fort William and Port Arthur, as well as portions of adjoining Neebing Township. Each of the former municipalities had its own fire department, namely the Fort William Fire Department and the Port Arthur Fire Department.

Fire Station 6 (Brown Street) 1321 Brown Street 1970 (amalgamation)-2014 Built 1952 as Fort William Fire Station 2. Replaced by new Westfort Station in 2014. Current plan is to transfer building to Thunder Bay District EMS.
Fire Station 7 (Neebing) 2065 20th Side Road 1970 (amalgamation)-2014 Built 1967 as Neebing Township Fire Station. Replaced by a new building at the same location.
