History[]

South Bruce Peninsula was created in 1999 through the amalgamation of the Township of Albemarle, Township of Amabel, Village of Hepworth and Town of Wiarton. The Amabel Township Fire Department in Sauble Beach and Wiarton Fire Department were merged to create the new fire service.
