HistoryEdit

South Algonquin Township was created in 1998 through the amalgamation of Airy Township with the unorganized townships of Dickens, Sabine, Lyell and Murchison. The Airy Township Fire Department and Murchison and Lyell Township Fire Team in Madawaska were joined to form the new fire department.
