History

As part of countywide municipal restructuring in 1998, Malahide was amalgamated with adjoining South Dorchester Township and the Village of Springfield to create an enlarged township.

Each of the municipalities operated their own fire department, so the South Dorchester Township Fire Department and Springfield Fire Department became part of Malahide Fire Services.
