History[]
The Village of Magnetawan formed its fire department in 1949. Initially equipped with portable pumps and basic equipment, the department did not acquire its first truck until a local service club purchased a used pumper in 1974.
In 1998, the Village of Magnetawan amalgamated with the Township of Chapman and the municipally-unorganized townships of Croft and Spence. The Ahmic Harbour Fire Protection Team, located in the community of Ahmic Harbour, became part of the fire department. Ahmic Harbour's truck was provided by the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal and transferred to Magnetawan upon amalgamation.
