History[]

The Jocko Point Fire Department served an area between North Bay and West Nipissing. The land is part of the Nipissing First Nation and is leased out for homes and cottages. Faced with high insurance rates, the residents formed a fire department, which also protected portions of the Reserve. Funding was provided through the subscription fees and local fundraising.

In April 2016, the Jocko Point Fire Department became part of Nipissing First Nation Fire & Emergency Services.
