In 1963 International Harvester introduced a custom chassis for the fire service. The CO-8190 was available in two wheel bases 164 or 228". It also offered two engine options, an IH 478 or 549 gas V-8. It used TCM's 5 man "Cincinnati" contour cab.
This chassis was used by several apparatus manufacturers including Howe, Oren and Van Pelt. The chassis was discontinued by IH in 1970 or '71.
