History[]
Acton was incorporated as a village in 1864 and as a town in 1922. Roughly 4000 people lived there by the end of the Second World War. In 1973, Georgetown was amalgamated with other area municipalities to form the Town of Halton Hills and the fire department became part of the Halton Hills Fire Department.
The Georgetown FD also protected parts of the Township of Esquesing.
