History[]

The Township of Flamborough was created in 1974 through the amalgamation of the former Village of Waterdown and the Townships of Beverly, East Flamborough and West Flamborough. Three separate fire areas were amalgamated to create the new Flamborough Township Fire Department:

Flamborough's status changed from a township to a town in 1985.

In 2001, Flamborough was merged with Hamilton and other area municipalities to create an expanded City of Hamilton. The Flamborough Fire Department became part of the Hamilton Fire Department.
