Department Overview[]

East Gwillimbury operates a composite fire department with a full-time chief, deputy chief, training officer, fire inspector and public education officer, as well as 16 full-time firefighters and 81 volunteers. All of the full-time firefighters are based at Station 2-8 in Queensville. They respond to all emergency calls in the municipality.

History[]

For several years, East Gwillimbury was divided into three separate fire areas in Holland Landing, Mount Albert and Queensville. Each area had its own chief. The first full-time firefighters were hired in 2013.
