Department ProfileEdit

Clarington operates a composite department. Stations 1, 2 and 4 have full-time crews 24/7, with Pumpers 10, 12 and 14 fully staffed. Stations 3 and 5 are volunteer/paid-on-call.

HistoryEdit

The Town of Newcastle was formed through amalgamation in 1974. In 1994, it was renamed the Municipality of Clarington partly due to confusion of the municipal name with that of the community of Newcastle within its borders.
