The Corporation of the Municipality of the County of Brant was formed in 1999 through the amalgamation of 6 of 9 municipalities within the borders of Brant County. The new fire service that was created merged the following Municipal Fire Departments:

Fire StationsEdit

Fire Station 1 66 Grand River Street North, Paris 1999 (amalgamation)-2002 Built 1903, former Paris Fire Station. Closed 2002. Currently home to Brant County Community & Development Services.
Station 9 137 Frances Street, Tranquility 1999 (amalgamation)-2009 Former Brantford Township fire station, built approximately 1957. This fire response area is now partly covered by Paris, Cainsville, St.George stations and a small area under automatic aid agreement with the City of Brantford. An ambulance station has been built on the same property. The fire station remains on-site and is used for storage.
Station 5 709 Mount Pleasant Road, Mount Pleasant 1999 (amalgamation)-2011 Former Brantford Township fire station, built 1956. Replaced and new building constructed at same location. First fire hall built for BTFD.
Station 2 3 Airport Road 1999 (amalgamation)-present Former Brantford Township Fire Station. Built in 1964 addition of Community Centre 1970 (?) two bay facility. Originally office for BTFD Fire Chief on site
Station 3 13 Potter Drive, Burford 1999 (amalgamation)-present Built 1992. Replaced original 2 bay fire station (1965?) 4 apparatus wagon bay, includes 10,000 gallon cistern used for water supply
Station 4 12 Garnet Road, Cainsville 1999 (amalgamation)-present Built 1957. Former Brantford Township Fire Department, third station built. Current study undergoing for replacement.
Station 6 734 Highway 54, Onondaga 1999 (amalgamation)-present Former Onondaga township Fire Department Fire Hall. Originally built 1875, and an dditional truck bay added to Public Works building in 1996. Existing bays attached to original municipal building no longer used for apparatus storage. Meeting room and association space in original building. Current study undergoing for replacement
Station 7 72 Main Street, St. George 1999 (amalgamation)-present Built 1995. Former South Dumfries Fire Department Fire Station. replaced fire hall built in 1950's (?).
Station 8 43 Simcoe Street, Oakland 1999 (amalgamation)-present Former Scotland Fire Area (Oakland Township/Burford Township) Fire Hall. Built 1960. Additional bay added in 1987. Current study undergoing for replacement.
Station 1 61 Dundas St. East, Paris 2002-present Former town of Paris fire station, built in 1903 in downtown core. Served for 99 years in same location with renovations to accommodate larger apparatus. Building renovated after new station completed to house building, planning, community services divisions. New station constructed in 2002 including renovations to existing building, addition of 6 bay wagon floor and addition office and training room. Storage building constructed 2015 housing parade trucks, spare tanker and air filling cascade system.

Future PlansEdit

Brant County is planning to build three replacement fire stations in Cainsville, Onondaga and Scotland. Council was to consider final approval for a design-build contract for all three stations in June 2017.
