History[]

The Blyth & District Fire Department was owned and operated by the Village of Blyth and the adjoining townships of East Wawanosh, Hullet and Morris. Huron County was restructured in 2001, and Blyth was amalgamated with Wingham and East Wawanosh to form North Huron. Management of the fire department passed along to the newly area merged municipalities, but remained a distinct entity until 2009, when it merged with the Wingham Area Fire Department to form the North Huron Fire Department.
