Pierce Delivery List
Does anyone have a delivery list for Pierce apparatus? I have 23 number only serials that are unchecked and 8378 Ennnn that are unchecked. I have 42,558 records of serial numbers less than 29999, and the ones that start with letters. I have 10871 records for serials greater 30000. A share would be greatly appreciated to get it rounded out with info. The company went with log-in before I was finished filling out my list. All told I have 60,159 serial numbers, so for just about 14% of the serial numbers I have no data or unverified data.
Thanks

You don't actually need all the extra 131 characters being pasted at the end of those Flickr URLs.
Instead of pasting this:

You can use:

or you can use:

It will take you to the exact same page.
The second (shorter) link is preferable because this is much easier to read in Source mode. The link after the /in/ is what flickr uses to track where links come from; photostreams, albums, faves, galleries or groups.

MediaWiki 1.39 Update
Hello everyone!
I'm sure most of you have noticed the little site notice appearing on the wiki about the MediaWiki 1.39 update. I just wanted to give a little bit more information about it.
What's being updated? Mostly coding underneath the hood. There will be no major design changes. Consider it like replacing the battery of a car - the car will still be the same outwardly, but it just needs some updates underneath.
All Fandom wikis will be updating to MediaWiki 1.39 in the coming month. I don't have an exact timeline at this moment, but expect it to happen in mid-March or April. During the migration to 1.39, the wikis will be set in read-only mode. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes (major wikis could need more hours). One week before m…
Spellcheck
Fandom has turned off the spellcheck feature due to performance issues affecting the entire platform. It will be turned back on again when the problem is resolved.
While on the subject of spelling, please note that Canadian spelling is most appropriate for articles on Canadian departments / subjects, American spelling for American departments / subjects. Uzbek (talk) 23:31, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
Category note
A few things need to be clarified about the "departments operating" categories assigned to articles.
First, these categories are for apparatus bodies only, not chassis. So if a department has an HME or Spartan truck, the category is only assigned if the bodies were made by HME Ahrens-Fox and Spartan ER / Crimson respectively.
Second, a department can be a current operator or a former operator, not both. For instance, if a department is currently operating a Pierce truck and has also operated Pierce trucks in the past that have since been retired, it would only have one related category - departments operating Pierce apparatus.
EMS
This is a reminder that the Fire Wiki consists of fire departments and agencies, along with search, rescue and extrication agencies and fire apparatus manufacturers. This does not include EMS agencies - the only EMS units included should be those operated by fire departments. EMS agencies, and for that matter law enforcement agencies, are beyond the scope of this wiki. Rather than adding them here, consider the "start a wiki" link on the left hand side of the page as they deserve their own dedicated wikis.
Certain editors have been creating pages for EMS agencies and adding EMS units from outside services to fire department pages. This content will be deleted, so please don't waste your time.
Linked number glitch
In some instances, the wiki software automatically adds a hyperlink to some apparatus pump/tank specs, particularly aerials. It seems to think the specs are phone numbers, and adds square brackets and a Tel notation so you can tap and call on a mobile.
In the source editor, it looks like this:
Fandom is aware of the issue and it's on their list of things to fix - it also happened a few years ago, then stopped. They believe it's specific to mobile edits, possibly using Safari. Feel free to delete the notation if you see it in an article. Uzbek (talk) 14:53, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
Bullet points
As some individual truck entries get more extensive (particularly as old unit designations and more detailed sales info is added), remember that it is not only OK but sometimes preferred that bullet points (asterix - *) are used instead of colons for line spacing. Sometimes bullet points are necessary to separate the text and make it clear which truck is which in a list, as the text can get jumbled together. Don't forget that the entire section should be consistent - use either bullet points or colons for all of the trucks listed in that section.
Map issues
With the new software, maps aren't always displaying correctly. Try refreshing the page. If that doesn't work (and it probably won't), adding more space to the map syntax often does the trick.
For example, replacing this:
fixed the map in question. Not sure if there's something about the line breaks or if it's the simple act of making the change. We have had this problem in the past and these edits have helped. Uzbek (talk) 19:47, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
6x4
When marking an apparatus 6x4, please ensure that it's actually 6x4 - 6x4 refers to a 4-wheel drive vehicle with 3 axles / 6 wheels. Otherwise, it's a tandem. 6x4 fire apparatus isn't very common, so please change any incorrect notations you see. Thanks. Uzbek (talk) 19:14, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
New software
Fandom has switched us over to their new platform. I have as much to learn as anyone else and am still figuring everything out. The look has changed somewhat and as far as editing goes, some things seem easier, other things seem harder. They're also replacing talk pages with article comments.
Please note that this is a mandatory change from Fandom - they're switching over all pages to this platform. Uzbek (talk) 16:12, 19 August 2020 (UTC)
Company Internal Links
There has been some confusion and inconsistency about where to put the internal links to apparatus companies in rosters. I've generally added it to the newest truck - so if there was a 2014 Pierce and a 2017 Pierce, I'd put it on the 2017 and then any newer ones that arrived afterward. However, others have been making it the first example listed, closest to the beginning of an article. So if the 2014 Pierce is at Station 1 and the 2017 at Station 4, the 2014 would have the link to the Pierce article.
Upon reflection, first example makes a lot more sense. It's easier for users to find and likely easier to maintain, especially if it's a long article. It's also standard practice for Wikipedia articles. Please do continue however limit it to on…

Email alerts
I used to get email alerts regularly when changes were made to pages that I follow however I have not been getting them for the last 6-12 months... Am I the only one having this problem?
I have checked my profile settings to ensure the email alerts were still active and nothing has been going to my 'junk folder'.
I found these alerts useful.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
